An
important and still developing area of Cox Media
Projects activity is multimedia publishing.
The
aim is to provide the most comprehensive coverage of the
selected subject by combining DVD releases with books,
CD-ROM reference
discs and, eventually, Internet-delivered information.
|
In this approach, the normal
‘entertainment content’ of the DVD is enhanced by an
additional ‘information section’ that contains further
video images as well as text and photographic features.
At some point in the future, high- quality, full-colour
books will also be marketed in conjunction with the DVD
products.
These titles are to be distributed
worldwide by a combination of links with national
magazine groups and with specialist distribution
companies. They are tightly focused programmes aimed at
enthusiast groups in various areas of motorcycling and
motor sport.
The first
release in this area of activity is The Motorcycle
Files - a series that focuses on the most
interesting machines from the world’s motorcycle
manufacturers. It is designed to provide a comprehensive
and cohesive library for motorcycle enthusiasts that
will combine entertaining video programmes with detailed
reference works.
Working
with Cox Media Projects on these productions is Alan
Cathcart. He is the most-syndicated motorcycle
journalist in the world and an acknowledged expert well
respected by his readers, his peers and by company
executives at the highest levels in the motorcycle
industry.
